ORDINANCE NO 3 1958
RELATING TO PENSIONS FOR POLICEMEN IN THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS AND PROVIDING FOR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
POLICE PENSION FUND BY CONTRIBUTIONS FROM THE GENER-
AL FUND FROM THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AND BY EQUAL
CONTRIBUTIONS TO BE DEDUCTED FROM THE SALARIES OF
ALL POLICEMEN EMPLOYED BY THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
WHEREAS the General Assem4y of the State of Colorado during its
regular session in 1957 has enacted a statute known as House Bill No 75
approved by the Governor of the State of Colorado on March 12 1957 and
being designated as an act concerning pensions for policemen in cities
and towns having less than 50 000 population , wherein there is granted to
cities in the State of Colorado having less than 50 000 population the
power to pay from their general fund into the policemen's pension fund
for such municipalities such sum monthly as shall not exceed 5/ of the
monthly salaries of the total police department of said municipalities
and
WHEREAS the budget for the City of Fort Collins for the year
1958 provides for the making of such payment from the general fund into
the policemen's pension fund
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 The Director of Finance of the City of Fort Collins
Colorado is hereby authorized and directed to pay from the general fund
of the City of Fort Collins into the policemen's pension fund of the City
of Fort Collins such sum monthly as shall not exceed 57 of the monthly
salaries of the total police department of the City of Fort Collins pro-
vided however that the sum so paid shall be the amount requested to be
so paid by the Board of Trustees of the policemen's pension fund
Section 2 The members of the police department of the City of
Fort Collins shall from their respective monthly salaries contribute in-
to the policemen's pension fund of the City of Fort Collins identical per-
centages monthly of their respective monthly salaries so that the contri-
bution of the police department as a whole shall match the contribution of

the City of Fort Collins as provided for under Section 1, of this ordinance
In order to effect such contribution the Director of Finance is hereby au-
thorized and directed to deduct the appropriate amounts as are hereinabove
described in this Section from the respective monthly salaries of the mem-
bers of the Fort Collins Police Department, and to deposit the same in the
policemen's pension fund of the City of Fort Collins
Section 3 The provisions for pension benefits for the policemen /
of the City of Fort Collins shall be as are set forth in said House Bill No
75
Section 4 The provisions of the within ordinance shall take ef-
fect as of January 1 A D 1958
Introduced considered favorably on first reading and ordered pub-
lished this 9th day of January A D 1958 and to be presented for final
passage on the 23rd day of January A D 1958
