ORDINANCE NO 6 1959
ACCEPTING AND APPROVING THE PLAT OF WHAT IS KNOWN AS
SECOND SOUTH SHIELDS STREET ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS, COLORADO, AND AUTHORIZING THE ANNEXATION
OF ALL THE TERRITORY EMBRACED IN SAID PLAT TO THE CITY
OF FORT COLLINS AND TO BE INCLUDED WITHIN THE LIMITS
AND JURISDICTION THEREOF, PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY
CONTAINED IN ARTICLE 11, CHAPTER 139, COLORADO REVISED
STATUTES, 1953
WHEREAS, heretofore written petition was presented to the Council
of the city of Fort Collins in substantial compliance with the provisions of
Article 11, Chapter 139, Colorado Revised Statutes, 1953 by the sole owners
of the area of land embraced in what is known as the Second South Shields Street
Annexation to the City of Fort Collins wherein and whereby said petitioners
petitioned the City of Fort Collins for the annexation of all the territory
embraced in what is known as Second South Shields Street Annexation to the
City of Fort Collins, Colorado, comprising the lands shown in the plat thereof
attached to said petition and more particularly described as hereinafter set
forth, and
WHEREAS said petition was accepted by the Council of the City of
Fort Collins by resolution passed and adopted on the 31st day of December
1958 and
WHEREAS notice for hearing on the 26th day of February, A D 1959
on an ordinance approving the annexation of said territory and including the
same within the limits and ,jurisdiction of the City of Fort Collins was duly
published as provided by law and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has found that the
petition and the documents thereto attached meet the requirements of Article 11,
Chapter 139 Colorado Revised Statutes 1953 and
WHEREAS, no proceedings for an election to determine the question of
annexation have been initiated by written counter-petition as provided by law
and no objection to annexation having been made,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 That after due consideration of the petition for annex-
ation, the petition for the annexation of all the territory in what is known
and described as Second South Shields Street Annexation to the City of Fort
Collins, Colorado, as shown by the plat thereof annexed to said petition and
which is more particularly described as follows to-wit

Part of the NEk of Section 15, Township 7 North,
Range 69 West of the 6th P M Larimer County,
Colorado, contained within boundary lines beginning
at a point 270 feet West of the East line and 1724 6
feet South of the North line of the NEt of said
Section 15, and running thence West parallel to the
North line of the NE;4 of said Section 15, 1059 51
feet, more or less, to a point on the West line of
the SEk of the NE% of said Section 15, thence South
along the West line of the SEk of the M of said
Section 15 204 6 feet, more or less, to a point which
is 719 4 feet North of the SW corner of the SEk of
the NEk of said Section 15, thence East, parallel to
the South line of the NEk of said Section 15, 603 18
feet more or less, to a point 726 33 feet from the
East line of the N&' of said Section 15, thence
South parallel to the East line of the NEk- of said
Section 15, 359 7 feet, thence East, parallel to the
South line of the Nk of said Section 15, 121 11
feet thence North, parallel to the East line of the
NE& of said Section 15, 359 7 feet, thence East,
parallel to the South line of the Nft of said Section
15 85 22 feet, thence North, parallel to the East
line of the NE', of said Section 15 117 3 feet thence
East, parallel to the South line of said Section 15,
250 feet, and thence North, parallel to the East line
of the NEJ4 of said Section 15 87 3 feet, more or lesq,
to the point of beginning, containing 5 303 actes
more or less
be accepted and approved and that the said territory be annexed and made a part
of the City of Fort Collins and be included within the limits and ,jurisdiction
thereof and that the City Clerk be and he is hereby authorized and directed to
prepare certified copies of this ordinance, to each of which shall be attached
a plat of said Second South Shields Street Annexation to the City of Fort Collins
Colorado, and shall file a copy thereof/in the office of the Clerk and Recorder
of the Countyof Larimer and another copy thereof in the office of the Clerk of
the City of Fort Collins, together with a certified copy of said petition and
another copy of said petition and approving ordinance with the Secretary of
State of the State of Colorado.
Section 2 That in accepting and approving the plat of the Second
South Shields Street Annexation to the City of Fort Collins the City of Fort
Collins does not assume obligations respecting the construction of water mains,
sewer lines, gas mains electric light lines or other services or utilities with
respect to service of said addition, except as may be required and provided by

the owners of property within the limits of said addition in compliance with
the terms and provisions of Ordinance No 7 1921 relating to local and public
improvements, as amended
Introduced considered favorably on first reading and ordered
published this 26th day of February 1959 and to be presented for final
passage on the 26th day of March 1959
