HomeMy WebLinkAbout003 - 02/16/1950 - VACATING 20 FEET OF SMITH STREET AND 20 FEET OF STOVER STREET ADJOINING BLOCK 174 (EMERGENCY ORDINAN ORDINANCE NO 3 1950 BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINA= VACATING 20 FEET OF SIIITH STREET AND 20 FEET OF STOVER STREET ADJOINING BLOCIS 174, IN THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS , COLORADO, ACCORDING TO PLAT FILED JANUARY 18, 1873 T �,IiEREAS, the plat of Block 174 in the City of Fort Collins, filed on January 18, 1873, shows Smith and Stover Streets adjoining said Block 174 on the kiest and East respectively as 100 feet in width, AND WHEREAS, the East 20 feet of Smith Street and the West 20 feet of Stover Street adjoining said Block are not and never have been traveled portions of said Streets, AND 1HEREAS, the owners of all of said Block 174 have pe- titioned the City Council to cause the vacation of the following des- cribed portions of Smith and Stover Streets, to-ait Beginning at the Northwest corner of Block 174, in the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, according to Plat filed January 18, 1873, runni,ig thence ,Test 20 ft. , thence South 400 ft. , thence Last 20 feet to the Southeast corner of said Block 174, and thence North along the West line of said Block 174 to place of beginning, Also beginning at the Northeast corner of said Block 174, t'ience East 20 feet, thence Soutn 400 feet , thence ,est 20 feet to the Southeast corner of said Bloch 174, thence idorth along the East line of said Block 174 to place of beginning, A11 HEREAS , the City Council is of the opinion that it will be to the best interests of the City to vacate the portions of said Smith Street and Stover Street as described above, THER FORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1. That the portion of Smith Street adjoining Block 174 in the City of Fort Collins, according to plat filed January 18, 1873, more particularly described as follows, to-wit Beginning at tre Northwest corner of Block 174, in the Citv of Fort Collins, Colorado, acc,ordln�, to Plat filed January 18, 1873 , run,ing thence West 20 ft , thence South 400 ft , thence bast 20 feet to the Southeast corner of said Block 174, and thence North along the ,est line of said Block 174 to slate of beginning , and that portion of Stover Street adjoinin; Block 174 in the City of Port Collins, according to plat filed January 18, 1873 , more particularly described as follows, uo- ,,it Beginning at the Northeast corner of said Block 174, thence East 20 feet , thence South 400 feet, thence est 20 feet to the Southeast corner of said Block 174, thence Forth along the East line of said Block 174 to place of beginning, be and the same is riereby vacated, abolished and abandoned, pur- suant to the ordinances of the City of Port Collins and the statutes of the Stale of Colorado in such case made and provided, and particularly under the provisions of Chapter 217 of the 1949 Session Laws of the Stale of Colorado. Section 2.
