HomeMy WebLinkAbout008 - 05/28/1937 - AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF REGISTERED WARRANTS AT THE RATE OF NOT TO EXCEED 4% INTEREST PER ANNUM A ORDINANCE NO 8 , 1937, BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF REGISTERED WARRANTS AT THE RATE OF NOT TO EXCEED 4% INTEREST PER ANNUM AND NOT TO EXCEED THE SUM OF $1677 50 IN AMOUNT, FOR THE PURCHASE OF REAL ESTATE TO BE USED AS A GRAVEL PIT WHEREAS, an emergency and unforeseen contingency has arisen whereby it has become necessary to expend not to exceed the sum of $1677 50 for the purehase of land to be used as a gravel pit and the public necessity requires an additional appropriation of public funds therefor THEREFORE, be it ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 That there be and is hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the City of Fort Collins for the year 1937 and subsequent years, unless taken up prior thereto, an amount not exceeding $1677 50 to be used to pay for the purchase of a tract of land con- sisting of 13 42 acres, more or less, for a gravel pit, which said sum shall be credited on the books of the City Clerk and City Treasurer as Gravel Pit Emergency Fund and registered warrants bearing interest at the rate of not to exceed 4°% per annum as may be fixed by the City Treasurer shall be issued by the City to cover said amount Section 2 In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety and this Ordinance shall take effect upon its passage under and by virtue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter -1- Introduced, read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council, at a regular meeting of the City Council, held this 28th day of May, A D 1937 Mayor Attest Acting C ty C erlk STATE OF COLORADO, ) ss County of larimer ) I, NELLIE WARFIELD, Acting City Clerk of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby certify and declare that the aforesaid Ordinance consisting of two (2) sections, was duly proposed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City Council, held on the 28th day of May, A D 1937 , and was duly adopted and ordered published in the Fort Collins Express-Courier, a daily newspaper and the official newspaper of the City of Fort Collins, by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council, as an Emergency Ordinance , in accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter , and thereafter and on to-wit the 2nd day of June, A D 1937 , said Ordinance No 8 was duly published in the Fort Collins Express-Courier, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins, Colorado IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said City, this 8th day of June A D 1937 T— ct ng G'lty erk
