HomeMy WebLinkAbout013 - 09/03/1937 - AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 017, 1936, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 012, 1937 REGULATING THE USE OF AND TR ORDINANCE NO 133 19373 BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO 17, 1936, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO 12, 1937 REGULATING THE USE OF AND TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS, ALLEYS AND SIDEWALKS IN THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLITION THEREOF AND PROVIDING FOR THE REGULATION OF TRAFFIC AT STREET INTERSECTIONS AND THE REGULATION OF PARKING OF ALL KINDS OF VEHICLES WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 That Section 10 (b) of Ordinance No 12, 1937 , be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows, to-wit "Section 10 (b) Vehicles may be parked in the center of the 100 and 200 Blocks on South College Avenue, 100 Block on North College Avenue, 100 and 200 Blocks on West Mountain Avenue and from the East side of Linden Street to Peterson Street on East Mountain Avenue at an angle of 45 degrees within the lanes marked therefor, with the nearest point of the vehicle 5 feet 9 inches distant from the nearest rail of the street railway track, and vehicles may be parked in the center of the 200 Block on North College Avenue at an angle of 45 degrees within the lanes marked therefor, provided that trucks and cars with trailers as described in Section 12 of said Ordinance No 17, 1936 as amended by Ordinance No 12, 1937 , may be parked parallel in the center of said 200 Block Vehicles parked in the center of the street shall not back out and in departing from said center parking shall yield the right of way to all vehicles approaching from the right Section 2 In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety and this Ordinance shall take effect upon its -1- passage under and by virtue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter Introduced, read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council, at a regular meeting held this 3rd day of September, A D 1937 yo r Attest ,,,,��JJ &C/Z. aZ - I City Clerk STATE OF COLORADO, ) ss County of Larimer ) I, MILES F HOUSE, City Clerk of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby certify and declare that the aforesaid Ordinance, consisting of two (2) Sections, was duly proposed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City Council, held on the 3rd day of September, A D 1937, and was duly adopted and ordered published in the Fort Collins Express- Courier, a daily newspaper and the official newspaper of the City of Fort Collins, by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council, as an Emergency Ordinance, in accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter; and thereafter and on to-wit the 7th day of September, A D_ 1937, said Ordinance No 13 was duly published in the Fort Collins Express-Courier, a daily newspaper published in the L'ity of Fort Collins, Colorado IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said City, this 7th day of September, A D 1937 City Clerk
