RELATING TO THE ACQUIRING OF A TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM BY THE
CITY OF FORT COLLINS PROVIDING FOR FUNDS THEREFOR AND SUB-
MISSION THEREOF TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS-
Sbction 1. Subject to the approval of the qualified electors of the
City of Fort Collins of proposed Charter changes to Section 7, Article V, and
Section 61 Article ICIII of the City Charter, which changes shall be submitted at
the same special election at which the within Ordinance is submitted to the vote
of the taxpaying electors, the City Manager is hereby authorized to purchase and
acquire a transportation system for the use of the City and its inhabitants.
Section 2. Said transportation system shall be acquired by the use of
the equipment fund of the City.
Section 3. Said transportation system shall be operated by the Department
of Municipal Public Utilities unless authorization to lease such transportation
system is deemed advisable and authorization for such leasing is given by Ordinance.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading and ordered published
this 22nd day of September, A. D. 1955, and to be submitted to the vote of the
taxpaying electors at a special election to be held on December 13, A. D. 19559
