ORDINANCE NO. 25 1955
RELATING TO THE LEASING OF A TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM TO BE
ACQUIRED BY THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS PROVIDING FOR THE
SUBMISSION THEREOF TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE CITY
OF FORT COLLINS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS-
Section 1. Subject to the approval of the qualified electors of the
City of Fort Collins of proposed Charter Changes to Section 7, Article V. Section 6,
Article %III, and Section 16, Article V of the City Charter, and upon favorable
vote of the taxpaying electors to acquire a transportation system, which measures
shall be submitted at the same special election at which the within Ordinance is
submitted to the vote of the qualified electors, the City Manager is hereby
authorized to lease the transportation system to be acquired by the City for the
use of the City and its inhabitants.
Section 2. Under said lease provision may be made for the subsidizing
of said transportation system, provided however, that the subsidy shall not exceed
a sum in excess of a 1 mill levy on each dollar of assessed valuation of taxable
property within the City.
Introduced, co•isidered favorably on first reading and ordered published
this 22nd day of September, A. D. 1955, and to be submitted to a vote of the
qualified electors at a special election to be held on December 13, A. D. 1955.
