APPROPRIATING THE $UM OF $14, t7 0 FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
1955 MR ADDITIONAL EXPENSE OF REPAIRING THE LINDEN
STREET BRIpGE.
WHEREAS, the City budget for the year 1955 contained an appropriation of
$12,000 00 for repairing the Linden Street bridge, and
WHEREAS, when the repairs were undertaken it was found that the floor
girders and deck of the bridge were in a much worse condition than anticipated
necessitating the replacement of the entire floor system of the bridge, and
WHEREAS, heretofore the City Council accepted bids on repairing the Linden
Street bridge including the additional expense necessary therefor, and the City
Council further approved the expenditure of an additional $14,046 90 above the budget
appropriation of $12,000 00, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the Council to provide for the expenses so
incurred in connection with such repairs as provided by Section 8, Article V of the
City Charter by reason of the unforseen contingency arising after the passage of the
annual appropriation ordinance
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 That there be and there is hereby appropriated for the expenses
of repairing the I3nden Street bridge an additional sum of $14,046 90, which said
sum shall be and is hereby transferred out of the general fund surplus for said
purpose
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading and ordered published
this 8th day of December, A D 1955, and to be presented for final passage on the
