HomeMy WebLinkAbout003 - 02/19/1954 - AMENDING NO. 030, 1924, AS AMENDED, AND ORDINANCE NO. 009, 1937, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE BUILDIN ORDINANCE NO 3 1954 BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AM=ING N0; 1924, AS AMENDED, AND ORDINANCE NO 9, 1937, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO THE BUILDING CODE FOR THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS, PROVIDING RULES AND RBGULATIQNS THEREUNDER, PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN-CONFLICT HEREWITH BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 That Section 180K as added by Ordinance No 6, 1950, and amended by Ordinance No 2, 1953 to Ordinance No 30, 1924, as amended by Ordinance No 9, 1937, as amended, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows, to-wit "Section 180K - ELECTRIC EQUIPMENT AND WIRING All electric wiring for light, heat and power service equipment, for radio and television receiving systems, and all alterations or extensions to existing wiring systems in buildings and structures shall comply with the approved rules and regulations of the National Electric Code as now existing, and in accord with all future modifications thereof provided, however, that rigid metal conduit or its equivalent as approved by the electrical inspector shall be used within the City fire limits, being that area comprising blocks 11, 12, 139 14, 181 192 21, 22, 231 31, 32, 33, 101, 102, 1111 1122 1132 1212 1222 123, 131, 132 and 141, for the wiring of the following buildings in said City fire limits, to wit Public buildings, hotels, apartment houses, hospitals, rest homes and gasoline pumps and islands where imbedded in concrete, and that electric metalic tubing known as thin wall tubing, or its equivalent, as approved by the electrical inspector shall otherwise be used within said City fire limits " Section 2 Repeal of Conflicting Ordinances All ordinances or parts of ordinances conflicting with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed Section 3 Emergency Clause In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety, and this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage, under and by virtue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter Introduced, read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council, at a regular meeting held this 19th day of February, A D 1954 Conn on�er�o e�,x-O'ff c o ayor ATTEST City Cleric— _2_ STATE OF COLORADO) ) ss COUNTY OF IARTMER) I, MILES F HOUSE, City Clerk of the City of Fort Collins, do hereby certify and declare that the aforesaid Ordinance, consisting of three sections, was duly proposed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City Council, held on the 19th day of February, A D 1954, and was duly adopted and ordered published in the Fort Collins Coloradoan, a daily newspaper and official news- paper of the City of Fort Collins, by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council,-as an Emergency Ordinance, in accordance with the provisions of Sections 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter, and thereafter and on, to-wit the $3rd day of February , A D 1954, said Ordinance No _was duly published in the Fort Collins Coloradoan, a daily newspaper published in the City of Fort Collins, Colorado IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of said City, this 23rd dap of February , A D 1954 7 -3-
