HomeMy WebLinkAbout006 - 04/02/1954 - AMENDING SECTION 3, OF ORDINANCE NO. 004, 1915, AS AMENDED RELATING TO AMUSEMENTS (EMERGENCY ORDINA ORDINANCE NO 6 1954 BEING AN EKIRGENCY ORDINANCE AhMTDING SECTION 3 ORDINANCE 4 1915 AS AMENDED RELATING TO AMUSEMENTS BE IT OF.DAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 Tnat Section 3 of Ordinance No 4 1915 as amended be ana the same is hereby amended by aaaing thereto the following "Sect-on 3 (I) In the operation of all public dance halls and all other buildings in which public dancing is permitted the ovmer or manager thereon shall pay an annual license fee in the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50 00) said license to terminate on the 31st day of December of the yeas in which it is issued and the license fee shall not be divisible for env part of the year but shall be ne full sum of the license regardless o-' the date of i seance Every public dance nall shall post its license in a conspicuous place vithin the hall where the dunce is held (II) It is further provided that the premises on vbici said public dancing ie carried on shall at all times be kept in a neat and orderly manner and low and boisterous conduct Ghall not be permitted thereon (III) It is further provided that the ovmer or proprietor or manager of said place of public dancing shall not allow any violation of the c_t3 ordinances upon the said premises on penalty of revocation of his license and in case of any revocation of any license no refund of the license fee or any wart thereof shall be made (IV) Said license to operate a public dance may be granted by the C_ty Council in its discretion to any individual or firm who shall make application in writing therefore stating tnerein the room or place wherein such public dcnces shall be held and who shall execute to the City of Fort Collins a Corpoiate Surety bond to be approved by the Mayor in the penal sum of Five Hundred ($500 00) Dollars conditioned that the individual or firm so licensed shall observe and keep all of the ordinances of the City of Fort Collins in force at the time of the issuing of said license or that may be passed or adopted during the term of said license Said application shall be accompanied by the amount of money required for the license fee, provided the City Council may refuse to grant any such license where in its opinion the applicant is not of good moral character, or for other good cause shown Section 2 All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here- with are hereby repealed Section 3 In the opinion of the City Council an emergency exists for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety, and this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage under and by virture of the authority con- tained in Section 6 and 7 of Article IV of the City Charter Introduced, read at length, and adopted by the unanimous vote of all the members of the City Council, at a regular 0d meeting of the City Council, held this 2nd day of April , A D 1954 mmissioner of Safety and -0£ficio Mayor ATTEST 15L City Clerk _ 2 ..
