BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 23-4 AND 23-157
OF,THE CODE ,OF ORDINANCES OF THE,CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AND PROVIDING-FOR-YIELDRIGHT OF WAY SIGNS AT INTER-
SECTIONS . -
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS:
Section 1. That Section ..23-4 of the Code of Ordinances of the City
of Fort Collins be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
"When signs are erected giving notice thereof the driver
of i vehicle shall likewise stop or yield the-right of way
in obedience to a' stop sign or 'a yield right of way sign
as required herein at an intersection or a railroad crossing
where a stop sign or yield right of way sign is erected at
one or more intersections thereto, although not a part of a
through street, -and shall proceed cautiously, yielding to
vehicles not so obliged .,to stop or yield the right of way
which are within the intersection or approaching so closely
as to constitute an immediate hazard, but may then proceed,
except_when otherwise directed by a police officer or traffic
control signal."
Section 2. That Section 23-157 of the Code of Ordinances of the City ,
of Fort Collins be and the same is hereby amended as follows: By deleting the
following words, to-wit:
"and shall erect a stop sign at every place where he 'shall
find a stop required,"
and by substituting the following words, to-wit:
"and shall erect a stop sign or yield right of way sign at
every place where he 'shall find augh stop sign or yield
right of way sign required."
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading and ordered published
this 16th day of November, A. D. 1961, and to be presented for final passage
on the 7th day of December, A. D. 1961.
