ORDINANCE NO 4 1957
APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $100,000 00 FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR 1957 FOR ADDITIONAL EXPENSES IN CONSTRUCTING
AND FURNISHING THE NEW MUNICIPAL BUILDING AND DE-
CLARING AN EMERGENCY THEREFOR
WHEREAS the city budget for the year 1957 contains an appro-
priation of $350,000 00 for the municipal building as capital outlay ex-
penses and
WHEREAS bids have been advertised for and opened for the con-
struction of the new municipal building and
WHEREAS the City Council has determined that the appropriation
for the municipal building for the fiscal year 1957 is inadequate to meet
the expenses of land acquisition installing utilities architects fees
constructing the new municipal building and furnishing said municipal
building and
WHEREAS it is necessary for the City Council to provide for
the expenses incurred and to be incurred in connection with the construc-
tion of said municipal building as provided by Section 8 Article V of
the City Charter for reason of the unforseen contingency arising after
the passage of the appropriation ordinance
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 That there be and there is hereby appropriated for
the expenses of constructing and furnishing the new municipal building
an additional sum of $100 000 00 which said sum shall be and is hereby
transferred for said purposes out of the following funds to-wit
Light and Power Improvement Fund $45 000 00
Water Works Improvement Fund $25,000 00
Equipment Fund, $30 000 00
Section 2 In the opinion of the City Council an emergency
exists for the actual preservation of the public peace health safety
and propertyp since insufficient funds have been appropriated for the
purposes aforesaid and such additional funds as hereby appropriated are
necessary to permit the acceptance of a bid for the construction of the
new municipal building Accordingly this ordinance shall take effect
upon its passage under and by virtue of the authority contained in Sec-
tions Six (6) and Seven (7) of Article II of the City Charter
Introduced read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of
all the members of the City Council as an emergency ordinance at an adjourned
meeting held this 7th day of February A D 1957

I, MILES F HOUSE, City Clerk of the City of Fort Rollins, do hereby
certify and declare that the aforesaid Ordinance, consisting of two sections,
was duly proposed and read at length at a regular meeting of the City Council
held on the 7th day of February, A D 1957a and was duly adopted and ordered
published in the Fort Collins Coloradoan, a daily newspaper and official
newspaper of the City of Fort Collins, by the unanimous vote of all members
of the City Council, as an Emergency Ordinance, in accordance with the provisions
of Section 6 and 7 of Article II of the City Charter, and thereafter and ons
to-wit- the 8th day of February, A D 1957, said Ordinance No b was duly
published an the Fort Collins Coloradoan, a daily newspaper published in the
City of Fort Collins, Colorado*
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the
seal of said City, this 8th day of February, A D 1957,
