HomeMy WebLinkAbout057 - 08/18/1966 - APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $213,529 FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1966 FOR LIGHT AND POWER CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS ORDINANCE NO _n, 19669 BEING AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUN OF $213,529 00 FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1966 FOR LIGHT AND POWER CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS WHEREAS, it is necessary that the City of Fort Collins immediately acquire an electrical substation in connection with the light and power plant of the City, and WHEREAS, the budget for the year 1966 does not include anitem for this expenditure, and WHEREAS, the actual necessity to meet the expenses incident to such improvement and betterment of the municipal light and power system has arisen from an unforeseen contingency arising after the passage of the annual appropri- ation ordinance, and WHEREAS, Section 8 of Chapter 5 of the City Charter provides that the City Council may provide by ordinance for the payment of any expense, the actual necessity of which is caused by an unforeseen contingency arising after the passage of the annual appropriation ordinance, and WHEREAS, there are adequate funds to meet this expense in the Light and Power Capital Improvement Fund NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 That there be and there is hereby appropriated for the improvement and betterment of the light and power system and primarily for the expenses incident to the acquiring of an additional substation facility the sum of $213 529 00 Section 2 Said sum of $213 529 00 is hereby appropriated out of the Light and Power Capital Improvement Fund into account #353 of the Light and Power Capital Improvement Fund Budget for 1966 Section 3 In the opinion of the City Council, an emergency exists for the actual preservation of the public property, health, peace and safety of the City of Fort Collins, and this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage under and by virtue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article 2 of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins Introduced, read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of all members of the City Council present, this 181 day of August, A D 1966 X "44alv� ayor ATTEST City C erk STATE OF COLORADO) ) ss.
