CHARGES PULES AND REGULATIONS THEREFOR, AND DECLAR
ING AN EMERGENCY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 That Section 3 of Ordinance No 21 1956 be and
the sane is hereby amended to read as follows
Section 3 The sanitary sewer services supplied by the City
of Fort Collins and used within the corporate limits of the City of Fort
Collins must be paid for in accordance with the following schedule of
rates and charges the consumer shall be billed in accordance therewith
to-wa.t
Urban Sewage Service Rates - Sanitary sewer service rates available
to users located within the corporate limits of the City of Fort Collins
These rates also include the garbage collection service operated by the
Sanitary Sewer System
Urban Flat Rate - Net
Applicability - Applicable to all residential uses of customers
receiving flat rate water service
Per living unit per month $ 1 25
Per living unit Pump System per month 1 50
Urban Meter Rate - Net
Applicability - Applicable to all universities colleges sorori-
ties fraternities for customers receiving metered water service
The charge for each month of the year shall be thirty-three and
one third per cent (33 1/3/) of the average monthly bill for
water service used by customer during the preceding months of
January rebruary and March but not less than $1 25 per month
and in no event less than $1 25 per month per living unit served
Urban Rate - General
Applicability - Applicable to all other uses in City not covered
by Flat Rate and Meter Rate as above

If daily garbage service is required of unusual capacity each
commercial and industrial unit will be surveyed and additional
charged per month made on the basis of service rendered
Suburban Sewage Rate - Sanitary sewer service rate available upon
permission of the City of Fort Collins to users located outside the
corporate limits of the City of Fort Collins adjacent to the distribution
lines of its Sanitary Sewer System This rate does not include garbage
collection service
Suburban Meter Pate - Net
Applicability - Applicable to residential commercial and in-
dustrial uses of customers receiving metered water service
The charge for each month of the year shall be fifty percent
(50/) of the average monthly bill for water service used by customer
dLring the preceding months of January February and March but not
less than $2 40 per month and in no event less than $2 40 per month
per living unit served
Said rates and charges shall be collected in quarterly install-
ments and in all cases where the water rate is a flat rate said install-
ments shall be due and permitted at the time the flat water rent is collected
and as a part of the same charge and in the case of metered water the sane
shall be collected on meter bills due and payable on the first day of
February April August and November and no one shall be permitted to use
water until and unless said water rates and sewer charges are paid
Effective date The foregoing rates shall be effective forthwith
Section 2 In the opinion of the City Council the increase in
assessment( provided in Section 1 hereof is necessary for the actual pre
servation of the public peace health safety or property and it is there-
for declared that an emergency exists and that this ordinance shall tale
effect upon its passage/mder and by virtue of the authority contained in
Sections 6 and 7 of Article II of the City Charter

Introduced read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of
all the members of the City Council at a regular meeting held this 27th
day of June A D 1957
