APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $3 000 00 FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
1957 FOR EXPENSES OF A SPECIAL ELECTION AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, a petition has been presented to the Council of the
City of Fort Collins, in accordance with provisions of Article XVIII, re-
quiring the holding of a special election and
WHEREAS it is neceasary for the Council to provide for the expenses
to be incurred in connection with the holding of said election as provided
in Section 8, Article V of the City Charter, for reason of the unforeseen con-
tingency arising after the passage of the Appropriation Ordinance
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 That there be and there is hereby appropriated for
the expenses of said special election the sum of $3,000 00 which said sum
shall be and is hereby transferred for said purpose, out of the General Fund
Section 2 In the opinion of the City Council, an emergency
exists for the actual preservation of the public peace health safety and
property since no funds have been appropriated for the purpose aforesaid
and it is necessary to have said special election at an early a date as pos-
sible in order to determine the budget requirements for the fiscal year 1958
Accordingly this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage under and by
virtue of the authority contained in Sections 6 and 7 of Article II of the
City Charter
Introduced read at length and adopted by the unanimous vote of
all the members of the City Council as an emergency ordinance at a regular
meeting held this 12th day of September A D 195 2.:��:
