BEING AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING AND
REGULATION OF TRASH HAULERS IN THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 It shall be unlawful for any person or corporation to
s
engage in the business of removing conveying or hauling any trash through
the streets of the City of Fort Collins without having first obtained a license
for such purpose
Section 2 Any person desiring to obtain a license to engage in
the business of trash hauling shall make written application therefor to the
Director of Finance stating (a) the name and residence of such applicant
(b) the principal place of business for the business to be carried upon and
(c) the number and kind of vehicles to be used
Section 3 The Director of Finance shall issue a license to any
applicant therefor upon payment of the required fee for said license and upon
the applicant furnishing a bond as required in Section 4 hereafter The fees
for such license shall be as follows Twenty five Dollars ($25 00) for the
first vehicle, and Seven and 50/100 Dollars ($7 50) for each additional vehicle
to be used in the business
Section 4 Any person desiring a license under this ordinance shall
file a bond with the Director of Finance in the penal sum of Five Hundred
Dollars ($500 00) with such sureties as shall be approved by said Director
conditioned that the applicant for said license will observe all the requirements
of this ordinance and all other ordinances of the City of Fort Collins respecting
the hauling of trash
Section 5 All licenses issued under this ordinance shall run from
the date of issuance until the 31st day of December of the year in which such
license is issued and all licenses shall expire on December 31 of each year
Section 6 All persons holding licenses under this ordinance and
engaged in the business of hauling trash shall dump all trash hauled by them
at the dumping yard maintained by the City of Fort Collins or at any other
dumping place which is approved by the City Manager of the City of Fort Collins
and no trash shall be dumped at any other location either inside or outside
of the City of Fort Collins
Section 7 Each vehicle used in the business of hauling trash in
the City of Fort Collins shall bear an identification issued by the Director
of Finance in a conspicuous place upon said vehicle which identification shall
be issued by the Director of Finance at the time the license is granted
Section 8 This ordinance shall become effective on January 1
1965
