BEING AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $55,093 FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1969
FOR ADDITIONAL SALARIES FOR CITY EMPLOYEES NECESSITATED BY COST-OF-LIVING INCREASE
WHEREAS, the increase in the cost of living of the City employees has necessitated
a cost-of-living increase to the salaries, which increase was recommended by the City
Manager for expenditure during the current budget year, and which recommendation was
heretofore approved by the City Council; but no funds have heretofore been appropriated
for paying such cost-of-living increase; and
WHEREAS, the budget for the year 1969 does not include an item for this expenditure;
and
WHEREAS, Section 15 of Chapter 5 of the City Charter provides that the City Council
may, at the expiration of eight months of the budget year or thereafter within the budget
year, if the actual revenue realized exceeds the budget estimates, by ordinance appropriate
the excess to any purpose recommended by the City Manager for expenditure during the
budget year; and
WHEREAS, the actual revenue realized to the several funds herein mentioned exceeds
the budget estimates in amounts, in each instance, more than the amounts herein appro-
priated.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS:
Section 1 . That there be and there is hereby appropriated for additional salaries
for City employees necessitated by the cost-of-living increase the sum of $55,093 .
Section 2. Said sum of $S5,093 is hereby appropriated out of the following funds,
to-wit:
General Fund - the sum of $33,125
Water Fund - the sum of $4,399
Sewer Fund - the sum of $1,586
Light and Power Fund - the sum of $14,963
Equipment Fund - the sum of $1,020
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading and ordered published this llth day
of September, A. D. 1969, and to be presented for final passage on the 2nd day of October,
A. D. 1969.
