BEING AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $16,771 .99 OUT OF SURPLUS IN THE GENERAL FUND
TO BE EXPENDED IN THE FISCAL YEAR 1969.
WHEREAS, the City Council has approved the expenditure of $16,771 .99 in the
year 1969 in connection with the Omnibus Crime Program of the United States Government,
and
WHEREAS, the City has received as the share of the United States Government
for said program the sum of $11 ,975.60, and the City is required to expend the additional
sum of $4,796.32 in connection with said program, and
WHEREAS, the monies received from the United States are in the general fund
and there is surplus in the general fund sufficient to cover the cost of said program,
and
WHEREAS, Section 15 of Article V of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins
provides that after the expiration of 8 months of a budget year, if the actual revenue
realized exceeds the budget estimates, the City Council may, by ordinance, appropriate
the excess to any purpose recommended by the City Manager for expenditure during the
budget year, and
WHEREAS, the City Manager has recommended the expenditure of said funds in
connection with the Omnibus Crime Program,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS:
Section 1 . That there is hereby appropriated for the Omnibus Crime Program
the sum of $16,771 .99.
Section 2. Said sum is hereby appropriated out of general fund surplus , and
to be placed in the budget of the Police Department and spent in connection with the
Omnibus Crime Program.
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published this
2nd day of October, 1969, and to be presented for final reading on the 23rd day of
October, 1969.
