BEING AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING THAT THE CONSTRUCTION OF
SEWER MAINS FOR THE SEWER UTILITY OF THE CITY DURING THE
YEAR 1972 WAS AN UNFORESEEN CONTINGENCY ARISING AFTER THE
PASSAGE OF THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AND APPROP
RIATING THE SUM OF $166 500 00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING
THE CITY'S SHARE OF THE COST OF CONSTRUCTING SUCH SEWER
MAINS
WHEREAS Section 21 49 28 of The Code of Ordinances of the City
of Fort Collins Colorado 19S8 as amended provides that the City of
Fort Collins will participate in paying the cost of installing sanitary
sewer mains and
WHEREAS during the year 1972 certain sewer mains have been in
stalled which were not anticipated at the time of the preparation of the
budget for 1972 and the City's share of the cost of such mains pursuant
to our Ordinance was not provided for in the budget for 1972 because such
main extension was not anticipated for this year and
WHEREAS the City s share of the cost of such main extension
including main extensions which have already been installed and those which
can now be anticipated for this year will be $166 500 00 and
WHEREAS such cost was an unforeseen contingency within the excep
tion contained within Section 8 of Article V of the Charter of the City of
Fort Collins
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated from unbudgeted surplus funds in
the Sewer Capital Improvement Fund the sum of $166,500 00 for expenditures
in the year 1972 for Sewer Capital Improvements
