BEING AN ORDINANCE DETERMINING THAT THE CONSTRUCTION OF WATER
MAINS FOR 7116 WATER UTILITY OF THE CITY DURING THE YEAR 1072
WAS AN UNFORESEEN COYTINGrNCY ARISING AFTER THE PASSAGE OF THE
ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AND APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF
$200,000 00 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PAYING THE CITY'S SHARE OF THE
COST OF CONSTRUCTION OF SUCH WATER MAINS
W1ILREAS, the Ordinances of the City of Fort Collins provide that the
City will participate in paying the cost of installing water mains, and
WHERLAS, during the year 1972, certain water mains have been installed
which were not anticipated at the time of the preparation of the budget for the
year 1972, and the City's share of the cost of such mains pursuant to said
Ordinance was not provided for in the budget for 1972 because such main extension
was not anticipated for the current year, and
WHEREAS, the City's share of the cost of sus-h main extension, including
main extensions which have already been installed, and those which can now be
anticipated for this year, will exceed by 12n0,00n 00 the aiaount anticipated and
budgeted for in the budget, and
WHEREAS, such cost is an unforeseen contingency within the exception
contained within Section 8 of Article V of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY T111� COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
that there is hereby appropriated from unbudgeted surplus funds in the Water
Capital Improvement Fund, the sum of 1200,000 00 for expenditure in the year 1972
for water capital improvements
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading and ordered published
this 2nd day of November, A D 1972, and to he presented for final passage on the
