HomeMy WebLinkAbout119 - 10/19/1982 - ADJUSTING THE FEES FOR CERTAIN LICENSES CONTAINED WITHIN CHAPTER 73 OF THE CITY CODE ORDINANCE NO 119, 1982 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY-_9F FORT COLLINS ADJUSTING THE FEES FOR CERTAIN LICENSES CONTAINED WITHIN CHAPTER 73 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS WHEREAS, inflation has increased the cost associated with the munici- palities' provision of municipal services, and WHEREAS, municipalities depend upon revenues obtained from the col- lection of license fees to offset the costs associated with the provision of said services, and WHEREAS, that certain license fees as set out more particularly below should be increased in order to effectively offset the costs associated with the provision of said services NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows Section 1 That Chapter 73, Article VII, Section 38 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as fol- lows 73-38 License fees A For all theaters, opera houses, moving-picture shows and other similar facilities where shows are to be produced for the public, the fee shall be in the amount of one hundred ten dollars ($110 00) per annum B For drive-in theaters , the fee shall be eighty dollars ($80 00) per annum C For all circuses, menageries and carnivals, the fee shall be eighty dollars ($80 00) for each day that such entertainment is presented in the City, provided that for carnivals, if more than forty (40) attractions are presented, an additional fee of two dollars and fifty cents ($2 50) per day for each attraction over forty (40) shall be paid D For public dance halls , the fee for the license shall be eighty dollars ($80 00) per year Section 2 That Chapter 73, Article VIII, Section 45, of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows Article VIII Amusement Devices 73-45 License fees and duration A For each pinball machine, the sum of fifty-three dollars ($53 00) every six months B For each of the tables named above, the sum of eight dollars ($8 00) every six months C For each bowling alley, the sum of fifty-five dollars ($55 00) per year E For all other machines, devices or games described in this Article and for which no specific license fee is fixed, the sum of thirty-seven dollars and fifty cents ($37 50) every six months Section 3 That Chapter 73, Article XIII, Section 69, of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows Article XIII Pawnbrokers 73-69 Annual- license fee The annual license fee for carrying on the business of pawn- broking shall be fifty-five dollars ($55 00) , submitted together with an application to the City Clerk Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered pub- lished this 5th day of October, A D 1982, and to be presented for final passage on tFe l9th day of October, A D 1982 ATTEST Mayor City CTer Passed and adopted on final reading this 19th day of October, 1982 ATTESTS Mayor C'ty4MCle k
