BEING AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING A LIPiIT
ON INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTIONS IN SUPPOPT OF
OR IN OPPOSITION TO BALLOT ISSUES PURSUANT TO
A PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDME11T TO ARTICLE XVII OF
THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF FOPT COLLINS
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins will conduct a special election on
February 26, 1Q80, arid\
WHEREAS, at said special election several questions, including pro-
posed amendments to the\Charter of the City of Fort Collins , will be
submitted to the voters, and
WHEREAS, proposed Cnar\r Amendment No 2 provides for the arlendment
of Article XVII of the Charter\of the City of fort Collins authorizing the
City Council to establisn limits on individual contrioutions in support of
or in opposition to ballot issues\t any City election
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS
Section 1 Pursuant to Article XVII, Section 9 (Contribution Limits)
of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins, no individual , association,
partnership, corporation , or other group shall contribute more tlian
Twenty-Five Dollars ($25 00) in support of \or in opposition to any initia-
tive or -ferendum on the 1,01lot at any Cit%1\election
Section 2 This ordinance shall not bec\ effective unless and until
the proposed Charter Amendment amending Article\XVII of the Charter of the
City of Fort Collins by the addition of a new Section 9 (Contribution
Limits) is passed at the special election to be conducted on February
26, 1980
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered pub-
1ished this 8th day of January A D 1980, and to be presented
for final passage on the 22nd day of January A D 1980
