ORDINANCE NO 159 1980
BEING AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AMENDING ARTICLE IX OF CHAPTER 2 OF THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS RELATING TO THE
FIREMEN 'S PENSION FUND
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 That Section 2-26 of Article IX of Chapter 2 of the Code
of the City of Fort Collins be, and the sane hereby is, amended to read as
follows
"§2-26 Adoption of State Statutes
Complete acceptance, ratification and adoption is
hereby made by the City of Fort Collins of Article 30
of Title 31 of the Colorado Revised Statutes, 1973, as
amended and as may be amended, relating to firemen' s
pensions "
Section 2 That Section 2-33 of Article IX of Chapter 2 of the Code
of the City of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as
follows
"612-33 Contribution from General Fund
The Director of Finance of the City of Fort Collins,
Colorado, is hereby authorized and directed to pay
from the general fund of the City of Fort Collins into
the Firemen's Pension Fund of the City of Fort Collins
such sum monthly as shall equal 19 11% of the total
monthly salaries of all members of the Fire Department
of the City of Fort Collins , except those members
hired on or after April 8, 1978 "
Section 3 That Section 2-34 (A) of Article IX of Chapter 2 of the
Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended to
read as follows
"A Members of the Fire Department of the City of Fort
Collins except those hired on or after April 8, 1978
shall contribute monthly 7 5% of their respective
monthly salaries into the Firemen's Pension Fund of
the City of Fort Collins
In order to affect such contribution, the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized and directed to deduct
tine appropriate amounts as are hereinabove described
in this Section from the respective monthly salaries
of sucn members of the Fort Collins Fire Department
and to deposit the same in the Firemen' s Pension Fund
of the City of Fort Collins "
Section 4 That Article IX of Chapter 2 of the Code of the City of
Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended by repeal of the existing
Section 2-35 and re-enactment of said Section to read as follows
"§2-35 Conformity to Statutory Provisions
Tile provisions of Part 10 of Article 30 of Title 31,
Colorado Pevised Statutes, 1973, as amended, and as
may be amended, relating to firemen' s pensions, shall
apply to all members of the Fire Department of Fort
Collins hired on or after April 8, 1978, and all
duties, riants, obligations, and benefits relating to
firemen ' s pensions for such members shall be in
accordance with said statutory provisions
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered pub-
lished this 22nd day of January A D 1980, and to be presented
for final passage on the 5th day of February A n 1980
