OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
BEING AN ORDINAKE AMENDING CEPTAIN SECTIONS OF
CHAPTER 113 OF (HE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AS IT RELATES TO UTILITY REFUNDS FOR THE ELDERLY
AND HANDICAPPED
WHEREAS, several citizen commissions of the City of Fort Collins have
net to consider modifications to the utility refund program for low-income
elderly residents of the City of Fort Collins, and
WHEREAS, these commissions have recommended that this program be
expanded to provide for utility refunds to handicapped individuals, and
WHEREAS, these commissions have also recommended an adjustment to
the income criteria used to determine eligibility for participation in the
program
NOV, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS
Section 1 That the first and second sentences of Section 113-1 of
the Code of the Ci Ly of Fort Collins be, and the same nereby are, amended
to read as follows
"§113-1 Declaration of Purpose

provide relief from City utility bills for low-income
elderly residents and handicapped residents of the
City It is the purpose of tnis program to refund
amounts representing a portion of utility bills
charged by the city to low income elderly residents
and handicapped residents "
Section 2 That Section 113-3 (A) of the Code of the City of "ort
Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows
"§113-3 Amount of Pefund
(A) The annual amount of refund payable hereunder
shall be based on the average monthly consumption
of water, se�,er , and electric services by a resi-
dential unit in the City, determined pursuant to
the administrative rules and regulations of this
