BEING AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AGENDAS
FOR MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL, PROVIDING
FOR A CONSENT CALENDAR IN CITY COUNCIL AGENDAS
AND THE MANNER OF ACTING UPON MATTERS ON THE
CONSENT CALENDAR
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS:
Section 1. Council Agendas The City Administration
shall prepare the agenda for all meetings of the City Council.
The agenda shall include all items requiring Council action.
Whenever possible, there shall be submitted with the agenda
all facts necessary for the Council to properly study the
item and make a decision thereon. To this end, the City
Manager may include his recommendation on items to be considered.
Section 2. Consent Calendar. The agenda for Council
meetings may incluuTe a consent calendar. Matters of a
noncontroversial nature requiring Council action may be
placed on the consent calendar portion of the agenda. No
ordinance scheduled for first reading shall be placed on the
consent calendar for passage. Ordinances scheduled for
second reading may be placed on the consent calendar for
passage, but in this event the title of each such ordinance
shall be read prior to action by the Council on the consent
calendar. Any Council member, the City Administration, any
citizen or any interested party may request at any time
prior to action by the Council on the consent calendar that
an item be removed therefrom and considered as a separate
item by the City Council. Prior to action by the Council on
the consent calendar, the presiding officer of the Council
shall identify the items on the consent calendar and advise
persons present of the right to request removal of any item
for separate consideration. If request is made to remove an
item from the consent calendar, the items shall be removed
and the presiding officer shall place such item on the
agenda for that meeting at an appropriate place for separate
action. After removal of all items for which a request was
made for removal, the City Council shall adopt and approve
the remaining items on the consent calendar by one motion.
The vote of each Council member on the motion to adopt and
approve the consent calendar shall be considered that Council
member' s vote on each individual item on the consent calendar
Section 3 Section 2-2A of the Code of the City of Fort Collins
is hereby repealed
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading and
ordered published this 15th day of November, A.D 1977, and
to be presented for final passage on the 20th day of December,
A.D. 1977.
