ORDINANCE NO. 87 , 1978
BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 38 OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS WITH RESPECT
TO BUILDING PERMIT FEES SET FORTH IN THE
UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1976 EDITION, VOLUME 1
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1. That Section 38-2 (B) of the Code of the City
of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, repealed.
Section 2 That there be added to the Code of the City
of Fort Collins a new Section 38-2 (B) to read as follows
"Section 303 (a) thereof is hereby deleted and
the following substituted therefor.
Sec 303 (a) Permit Fees. A fee for each building
permit shall be paid to the Building Official as
set forth in Table No 3-A. Table 3-A permit fees
shall be increased thirty-five percent (35%) when
all permits .including building, plumbing, mechanical
and electrical issued for a building, structure or
pro3ect are included on a single permit issued
under this Section
The determination of value or valuation under any
of the provisions of this Code shall be made by the
Building Official. The valuation to be used in
computing the permit and plan-check fees shall be
the total value of all construction work for which
the permit is issued, as well as all finish work,
painting, roofing, electrical, plumbing, heating,
air-conditioning, elevators, fire-extinguishing
systems and any other permanent work or permanent
equipment
Where work for which a permit is required by this
Code is started or proceeded with prior to obtaining
said permit, the fees specified in Table No 3-A
shall be doubled, but the payment of such double fees
shall not relieve any persons from fully complying
with the requirements of this Code in the execution
of the work nor from any other penalties prescribed
herein."

Table No. 3-A entitled "Building Permit Fees" contained in
Section 303 (a) is amended by deleting therefrom the title and
first line of said table which reads as follows
"TABLE NO. 3-A--BUILDING PERMIT FEES
TOTAL VALUATION FEE
$1 00 to $500.00 $5.00"
and by substituting therefor the following:
"TABLE NO. 3=A--PERMIT FEES1
TOTAL VALUATION FEE
Less than $20.00 No fee or permit
$20 00 to $500.00 $5.00
lA fee for each plumbing , mechanical and electric
permit issued shall be paid as set forth in Section 303(a)
or alternatively , as set forth in the Uniform Plumbing
Code , Uniform Mechanical Code or the National Electrical
Code, all latest adopted editions "
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading and
ordered published this 5th day of September , A.D 1978, and
to be presented for final passage on the 1 day of September
A.D. 1978.
