HomeMy WebLinkAbout006 - 01/02/1979 - ADOPTING THE 1979 CITY OF FORT COLLINS EMPLOYEE PAY PLAN (EMERGENCY ORDINANCE) ORDINANCE NO 6, 1979 BEING AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE ADOPTING THE 1979 CITY OF FORT COLLINS EMPLOYEE PAY PLAN WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore approved a position classi- fication and compensation plan for municipal employees for the City of Fort Collins, and WHEREAS, the administration has reviewed the City's compensation plan and has recommended that a new plan be approved which is based upon the principles of employee performance, prevailing wages, and internal align- ment NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 That the pay plan for the fiscal year, 1979, for all of City of Fort Collins clerical and technical employees shall be as follows Range 1C $267 - $722 Lineworker II Service Manager Supervisory Treatment Plant Operator A Range 9L $606 - $756 Line Crew Chief Range 10L $637 - $809 Supervisory Line Crew Chief Section 5 That the salaries for all nonclassified service employees shall be set by the City Manager For purposes of this Ordinance, nonclas- sified service employees shall include the following positions Light and Power Director Water and Sewer Director Public Works Director Planning and Development Director Finance Director -7- I Parks and Recreation Director Police Chief Assistant City Manager Fire Chief MIS Director Community Services Director Employee Development Director City Clerk Internal Auditor Section 6 That the immediate adoption of this Ordinance is necessary to preserve, protect, and advance the general welfare of the residents of the City of Fort Collins specifically to provide all employees of the City of Fort Collins with a pay plan for fiscal year, 1979 Therefore, the City Council hereby determines that an emergency does exist requiring the immediate passage of this Ordinance, and this Ordinance is, therefore, enacted pursuant to Section 6 of Article II of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins as an Emergency Ordinance and shall be effective upon its passage Introduced, considered favorably by 7 members of the City Council finally passed as an Emergency Ordinance and or published this 2nd day of January, A D 1979 Mayor ATTEST ity Clef -8-
