HomeMy WebLinkAbout120 - 11/17/2009 - APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE NATURAL RESOURCES ENERGY EFFICIENCY ORDINANCE NO. 120, 2009 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE GENERAL FUND FOR THE NATURAL RESOURCES ENERGY EFFICIENCY COMMUNITY BLOCK GRANT WHEREAS, the. Department of Energy has awarded the City $1,307,900 in grant funds from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant ("EECBG") Program; and WHEREAS, the grant funds are to be used to stimulate the economy, create and retain jobs, and conserve energy resources; and WHEREAS, the City plans to use the grant funds to construct bicycle and pedestrian improvements; review, adopt, implement, and enforce new capacity of the green building standards; replace antiquated computer hardware and software; increase the photo-voltaic system at Northside Aztlan Community Center; replace inefficient boilers at the Fort Collins Museum and old Police Building; and implement other, smaller projects; and WHEREAS, the EECBG Program grant funds require no matching funds from the City; and WHEREAS, Article V, Section 9, of the City Charter authorizes the City Council to make supplemental appropriations by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year, provided the total amount of such supplemental appropriations, in combination with all previous appropriations for the fiscal year, does not exceed the current estimate of actual and anticipated revenues to be received during the fiscal year; and WHEREAS, City staff has determined that the appropriation of the EECBG Program grant funds will not cause the total amount appropriated in the General Fund to exceed the current estimate of actual and anticipated revenues to be received in that fund during the fiscal year. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated from unanticipated revenue in the.General Fund the sum of ONE MILLION THREE HUNDRED SEVEN THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,307,900) for expenditure in various Natural Resources projects within the General Fund. Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published this 3rd day of November, A.D. 2009, and to be presented for final passage on the 17th day of November, A.D. 2009.
