OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CI 70F FORT COLLINS
BEING AN ORDINANCE CREATING A SELF-INSURANCE FUND
WHEREAS, Article V, Part III, Section 27 of the Charter of the City of
Fort Collins permits the Council to create special funds for any purpose by
ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the purpose of creating a Self-Insurance Fund would be to
segregate self insurance activities of the City to provide for financial
control , accounting and financial reporting, and
WHEREAS, revenues for the Self-Insurance Fund shall be generated from
fees assessed to the operating areas of all appropriate Funds of the City,
and
WHEREAS, revenues generated for the Self-Insurance Fund shall be
utilized to provide the City with self-insurance activities, some insur-
ance premiums, and the accumulation of adequate reserves, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to establish said Self-Insurance Fund with an
effective date of October 1, 1981
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS, as follows
Section 1 That there is hereby created a Self-Insurance Fund pur-
suant to and in accordance with Article V, Part III, Section 27 of the
Charter of the City of Fort Collins
Section 2 That this ordinance is declared to be necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety Therefore,
the City Council hereby determines that an emergency does exist requiring
the immediate passage of this ordinance, and this ordinance is therefore,
enacted pursuant to Section 6 of Article II of the Charter of the City of
Fort Collins as an emergency ordinance and shall become effective upon its
passage
Introduced, considered favorably by 7 members of the City Council
upon reading, finally passed as an Emergency Ordinance and ordered pub-
lished this 6th day of October A D 1981
