BEING AN OPDINANCE AUTHORIZING APPOINTMENTS OF
ALTERNATE MEMBERS TO THE STORM DRAINAGE BOARD
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has, in the past,
established a system whereby alternate members may be appointed to serve on
various boards and commissions, and
WHEREAS, the system provides for more effective operation of boards
and commissions, and
WHEREAS, the Storm Drainage board presently does not have alternate
members, and
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins wishes to appoint
alternate members to serve on the Storm Drainage Board
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS as follows
Section I That Section 93-3 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins
be, and it hereby is, amended to read as follows, to-wit
"Section 93-3 In order to assist in administering
this Chapter, there is hereby created a board of
the City to be known as the "Storm Drainage Board",
hereinafter referred to in this Chapter as the "Board"
The Board shall consist of from five to seven regular
members as determined from time to time by the City
Council and two alternate members The City Council
shall appoint all members of the Board The term of
office of regular members of the Board shall be four
years, except that the initial appointment shall be
made in a manner which will achieve overlapping of
terms The term of office of alternate members of the
Board shall be two years The City Council shall
appoint persons to fill vacancies which may exist on
the Board from time to time "
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered pub-
