HomeMy WebLinkAbout146 - 10/20/1981 - AMENDING CHAPTER 112 OF THE CITY CODE RELATING TO RATES FOR THE WATER AND SEWER UTILITY ORDINANCE NO 146, 1981 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS BEING AN ORDINANCE Af,ENDING CHAPTER 112 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS RELATING TO RATES FOR THE WATER AND SEWER UTILITY BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows Section 1 That Section 112-82 K of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows "K The rate for each category shall be Category Class of Customer Rate A Single-family residential user (either flat rate or metered water use) $8 78 per month B Duplex (two-family) resi- dential user (either flat rate or metered water use) $14 30 per month C Multiple-family residential user (more than 2 living units) $0 77 per 1,000 gallons of winter water use, with a minimum charge of $3 25 per month per living unit served D Minor nonresidential $0 77 per 1,000 gallons of water use, with a minimum charge as follows Size of Monthly Water Pieter Minumum (inches) Charge 3/4 of smaller $ 3 25 1 $ 432 1-1/2 $ 7 57 2 $13 00 3 $27 08 4 $43 33 6 $97 54 E Intermediate nonresidential $0 77 per 1,000 and gallons of water F Major nonresidential use or measured sewage flow, which- ever is applicable, and $0 4502 per million gallons for each mg/l of suspended solids in excess of 250 mg/l , plus a surcharge of $O 3619 per million gallons for each mg/l of BOD in excess of 2001 mg/l or a sur- charge of $0 2413 per million gallons for each mg/l of COD in excess of 300 mg/l , whichever is applicable A minimum charge would also be made, if appli- cable, as follows Size of Monthly Water Meter Minimum ( inches) Charge 3/4 or $ 3 25 smaller 1 $ 432 1-112 $ 7 57 2 $13 OO 3 $27 08 4 $43 33 6 $97 54 G Users outside city limits The rate shall be 1-112 times that of similar users inside the city limits F1 Special The rate shall be negotiated L The above charges are not applicable during the original construction period of the building or structure to be served At the time a certificate of occupancy is issued for the building or structure, the above charges will begin to be assessed " -2- Section 2 That Section 112-52 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows 11112-52 Flat rates for unnetered water use The following flat rates shall be charged on a monthly bdsis for the use of water from the water utility when the use is not metered A For each family living unit, six dollars and thirty-five-cents ($6 35) B For each lot having an area between six thousand (6,000) and nine thousand (9,000) square feet, an additional Five Dollars and Forty-Six Cents ($5 46) C For each lot having an area over nine thousano (9,000) square feet, an additional eleven cents (50 11) per one hundrf - (100) square feet in excess of nine thousand (9,000) square feet D For each lot having an area under six thousand (6,000) square feet, a deduction of eleven cents ($0 11) per one hundred (100) square feet under six thousand (6,000) square feet E The rate to be charged for such flat rate use shall be the sum of the amounts determined pursuant to the applicable portions of Subsections A through D above, except that no flat rate user shall be charged less than the monthly minimum charge per family living unit, which minimum shall be Seven Dollars and Thirty-Seven cents ($7 37) " Section 3 That Section 112-55 A of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows "112-55 Meter rate schedules A Schedule A Inside City Metered Rates 1 Minimum charge The monthly minimum charge for all metered users shall be as follows (a) Residential customers Six Dollars and Thirty-Five cents ($6 35) for the first dwelling unit and Three Dollars and Eighty-Two cents ($3 82) for each additional dwelling unit (b) Nonresidential customers -3- Meter Size Monthly ( inches) Minimum Charge 3/4 $ 6 35 1 $ 1064 1-1/2 $ 21 30 2 $ 34 13 3 $ 64 04 4 $106 69 6 $213 33 8 $341 33 2 The minimum charge determined pursuant to Subsection A (1) above will entitle any non-residential user to two thousand (2,000) gallons of water per month without additional charge and will entitle any residential customer to two thousand (2,000) gallons of water per month times the number of dwell- ing units served The charge to be made for all water taken through the meter after the allowance for the minimum charge shall be charged for at the rate of fifty-two cents ($0 52) per one thousand (1,000) gallons " Section 4 The amendments recited herein shall become effective on all billings rendered on or after January 1, 1982, relating to services provided during the month of December, 1981, and thereafter Introduced , considered favorably on first reading , and ordered published this 6th day of October , 1981, and to be presented for final passage on the 20th day—of-_0ctober 1981 a or ATTEST �) City Clerk Passed and adopted on final reading this 20th day of October 1981 a / / ATTEST Mayor City -
