HomeMy WebLinkAbout148 - 10/20/1981 - AMENDING CHAPTER 112 OF THE CITY CODE RELATING TO WATER PLANT INVESTMENT FEES ORDINANCE NO 148, 1981 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 112 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS RELATING TO WATER PLANT INVESTMENT FEES BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that Section 112-64 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the sane hereby is, amended to read as follows Section 1 §112-64 Schedule of Water Plant Investment Fees A The water plant investment fee prescribed in §112-61 of this article shall be charged to users both in and out of the City, whether metered or flat rate, as follows 1 For Sin le Family and Two Family Residential Structures rt out ommon y owned Areas A fee of Two Hundred Forty Dollars ($240 00) for single family residential structures and Four Hundred Eighty Dollars ($480 00) for two family residential structures, plus Eighteen Cents ($0 18) for each square foot of lot area will be charged for an initial three-fourths ( 3/4) inch water tap For each additional tap to serve the premises, or for taps larger than three-fourths inch, the non-residential rate shall apply 2 For Separately Owned Sin le Family Residential Structures in Developments it ommon y wne reas For each residential structure a base fee of One Thousand Three Hundred Twenty Dollars ($1,320) will be charged For structures on separately owned lots in excess of four thousand (4,000) square feet, a fee will be added of eighteen cents ($0 18) for each such additional square foot Such fees will provide for one tap per residential structure and an ade- quate number of additional taps to serve common irrigable areas Approval of the number and size shall be granted pursuant to City policy 3 For Residential Structures of Two Living Units or More in Developments with Commonly Owned Areas and All Other Residen- tial Structures o ree or more Living Units For each residential structure a base of One Thousand Three Hundred Forty-Four Dollars ($1,344 00) plus Three Hundred Thirty-Six Dollars ( $336 00) for each living unit in the structure will be charged Such fees will provide for one tap per residential structure and an adequate number of additional taps to serve common irrigable areas, if any Approval of the number and size shall be granted pursuant to City policy 4 For Service to Hotels, Rooming Houses, Sororities, Fraterni- ties, Mobile Home Par s an t er imi ar Uses The non-residential rate shall apply 5 For Non-Residential Service Service to all non-residential taps, including, but not limited to, taps for commercial and industrial service shall be charged according to the size of the tap at the water main (exclusive of demand for fire protection) pursuant to the following schedule Tap Size Non-Residential ( Inches) Plant Investment Fee 3/4 $ 1,680 1 $ 4,200 1-1/2 $ 8,400 2 $13,440 3 $25,200 4 $42,000 All taps in excess of four (4) inches shall be charged a fee negotiated by the Director of the Water and Sewer Utility and approved by the City Council upon recommendation of the Water Board B In the event that a water user from the Water Utility of the City shall apply for and obtain permission to increase the size of his tap, if for that tap a water plant investment fee based on the size of the tap had been paid, he shall pay an additional water plant investment fee to the extent of the difference between the fee and charge for the existing smaller tap and the fee and charge for the requested larger tap In the event that the existing smaller tap is less than three-fourths (3/4) inch in diameter, the applicant shall be credited for the fee and charged for the three-fourths inch tap No refund, however, shall be -2- made to any water user of the Water Utility of the City who obtains permission to decrease the size of his tap Section 2 The amendments recited herein shall become effective on all billings rendered on or after January 1 , 1982, relating to services provided during the month of December, 1981, and thereafter Introduced, considered favorably on first reading , and ordered published this 6th day of October 1981, and to be presented for final passage on the 20thday o -Octobefq 1981 ayor ATTEST SWA City Clerk -- Passed and adopted on final reading this 20th day of October , 1981 a M ayor ATTEST City Clerk -3-
