OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AMENDING THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
TO ESTABLISH LIMITATIONS REGARDING CAMPAIGN
CONTRIBUTIONS, PURSUANT TO ARTICLE XVII,
SECTIOil 9 OF THE CITY CHARTER
WHEREAS, the electors of the City of Fort Collins mandated at the
April 7, 1981 General Election that the City Council act by ordinance to
establish a ceiling limit on the amount that any person or entity may
contribute in support of or in opposition to any initiative, referendum, oy
candidate on the ballot at any City election, and
WHEREAS, said mandate was, at the April 7, 1981 General Election, made
a part of the City Charter by inclusion therein in Article XVII, Section 9,
"Contributions Limits", and
WHEREAS, pursuant to said Charter anendment, the City Council does
hereby establish campaign contribution limitations
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that Chapter 9 of the Code of the City of Foit Collins be amended
by the addition of Article VI to provide as follows
ARTICLE VI
Campaign Contributions
§9-15 No person or entity may contribute an amount in
excess of One Hundred Dollars ($100 00) in support
of or in opposition to any initiative, referendum,
or candidate on the ballot at any City election
Introduced considered favorably on first reading and ordered pub-
lished this 6th day of October, 1981 , and to be presented for final pas-
sage on the 20th day of October, 1981
