OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
AMENDING ARTICLE I, CHAPTER 84 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF
FORT COLLINS TO INCLUDE THE DEFINITION OF A PUBLIC PLACE
WHEREAS, presently under Section 84-2 of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins the term "public place" takes on a vague and indefinite meaning,
and
WHEREAS, such vagueness inhibits enforcement of local ordinances in
certain areas of the City not typically designated as public places,
and
WHEREAS, a definition of the term public place would alleviate the
vagueness and result in better enforcement of local ordinances
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that Article I, Section 84 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins
be, and the same hereby is, amended by the addition thereto of the follow-
ing definition
84-6 1 For the purposes of Article I of this Chapter 84,
the following term shall have the meanings indi-
cated
"Public place" means a place to which the public or a
substantial number of the public has access, and
includes, but is not limited to, highways, transpor-
tation facilities, schools, places of amusement,
parks, playgrounds, and the common areas of public
and private buildings and facilities "
