OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
DESIGNATING THE C M SMITH HOUSE AS AN
HISTORIC LANDMARK
WHEREAS the C M Smith House, located at 622 Remington in the City
of Fort Collins, lies within the boundaries of the Laurel School Historic
District which is listed in the "National Register of Historic Places" ,
and
WHEREAS, said house has recently been rehabilitated in accordance with
Historic Landmark Design Guidelines, and
WHEREAS, the Cultural Resources Board has determined that said house
meets the criteria of a landmark and accordingly, has contacted the owner
thereof, Mary M Harnett, and has outlined to said owner the reasons and
effects of designation of said house as an historic landmark, and
WHEREAS, the owner of said house has given the Cultural Resources
Board her written consent that said house may be designated as an historic
landmark, and
WHEREAS, the Cultural Resources Board, upon its own motion and upon
the affirmative vote of a majority of the quorum, has recommended to the
City Council that the said C M Smith House be forthwith designated as an
historic landmark, and
WHEREAS, after having given due consideration to the consent to
designation and the view of the owner of the affected property, as well as
the recommendation of the Cultural Resources Board, the City Council has
determined that the aforementioned property should be designated as
an historic landmark
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the C M Smith House, located at 622 Remington Street in the
City of Fort Collins, be, and it hereby is, designated as an historic
landmark and shall hereafter be subject to the provisions contained in
Chapter 69 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered pub-
lished this 19th day of January, 1982 , and to be presented for final
passage on the 2nd day of February, 1982
