HomeMy WebLinkAbout067 - 07/03/2019 - AMENDING SECTION 8-2 OF THE CITY CODE AND PERMITTING THE TRUSTEES OF THE POLICE, FIRE, AND GENERAL E ORDINANCE NO 679 1979 BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8-2 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AND PERMITTING THE TRUSTEES OF THE POLICE, FIRE, AND GENERAL EMPLOYEES' PENSIONS TO MEET IN EXECUTIVE SESSION BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that Section 8-2 A of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and it hereby is, amended so as to read "Meetings of the City Council shall be open to the public in accordance with the requirements of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins All meetings of boards of the City at which any formal action is taken by such board shall also be public meetings open to the public at all times, except that the foregoing requirement for open meetings shall not apply to the Water Board, the Personnel Board, and the Building and Contractors Licensing Board if such boards determine that the subject for consideration by the board is such that the best interest of the city or the public or an individual who will be affected by action of such board could be jeopardized by an open meeting The Human Relations Commis- sion shall have the authority to hold closed meetings for the purpose of receiving and considering evidence relating to a citizen complaint filed against a member of the Fort Collins Police Department The trustees of the police, fire, and general employees' pensions shall have the author- ity to meet in executive sessions for the purpose of review- inq pension applications, medical records, personnel records and reports, and discussing pending as well as previously granted pensions with board attorneys " Introduced, considered favorably on first reading and ordered pub- lished this 5th day of June, A D 1979, and to be presented—far final passage on the�,d day of july, A D 1979 ATT� � a f Tit erk Passed and adopted on final reading this 3rd day of Jul D 19, i r1Q, T ayor er
