CODE INSOFAu AS IT RELATES TO FOUNDATION VENTILATION
FE IT ORLAINED BY THE COUVCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows
Section 1 That Section 2517 (c) (6) of the Uniform Building Code,
1976 Eaition be, and it the same hereby IS, anienaea to read as follows
"§2517 (c) (6) Foundation ventilation Underfloor areas shall be
ventilated Ly an approved mechanical means or by
openings in exterior foundation walls Sucn openings
shall have a net area of not less Van 1-1/2 square
feet fo, each 25 linear feet of exterior wall
Openings shall be locatea as close to corners as
practicable and shall provide cross ventilation on
at least two approximately opposite sides They
shall be covered with corrosion resistant wire mesh
not less than 1/4 inch nor more than 1/2 inch
in any dimension
As an alternate to the required fol�ndation openings
or mechanical ventilation system, a ground cover
consisting of a mnninum 6 mils thick plastic with a
minirium six inch lap at all ,joints may be substi-
tutea Where extreme moisture problems are en-
countered, the Fuiloinq Official may require a four
inch cranular Linder I ayment and ventilation as deemed
necessary "
