BEING AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE IX
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
RELATING TO FIREMEN'S AND POLICEMEN'S PENSION
FUNDS AND INCREASING THE CITY'S CONTRIBUTION THERETO
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS as follows
Section 1 That Section 2-33 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins
be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows
"2-33 Contribution from general fund
The Director of Finance of the City of Fort Collins, Colorado, is
hereby authorized and directed to pay from the general fund of the
City of Fort Collins into the Firemen's Pension Fund of the City of
Fort Collins such sum monthly as shall equal nineteen point eleven
percent (19 11%) of the total monthly salaries of the Fire Depart-
ment of the City of Fort Collins "
Section 2 That Section 2-34(a) of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows
"A The members of the Fire Department of the City of
Fort Collins shall contribute monthly seven
percent (7%) of their respective monthly salaries
into the Firemen's Pension Fund of the City of
Fort Collins
In order to affect such contribution the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized and directed to
deduct the appropriate amounts as are hereinabove
described in this Section from the respective
monthly salaries of the members of the Fort
Collins Fire Department and to deposit the same in
the Firemen's Pension Fund of the City of Fort
Collins "
Section 3 That Section 2-39(d) of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended by deleting therefrom the
words and figures "six percent (6%)" and substituting therefor the words
and figures "seventeen point fifteen percent (17 15%)"
Section 4 That Section 2-39(e) of the Code of the City of Fort
Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows
"E The amount to be contributed by members of the
Police Department of the City of Fort Collins
eligible to be members of the fund, which amount
shall be seven percent (7%) of members' respective
monthly salaries "
Section 5 That said amendments are to be retroactive to January 1 ,
1979
