OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITT OF FORT COLLINS
REPEALING CHAPTER 9, ARTICLE VI , SECTION 15
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FOPT COLLINS AS
IT RELATES TO CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS
WHEPEAS, the United States Supreme Court recently ruled in the case of
The Citizens for Rent Control Coalition, et al v the City of Berkley,
et al , and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Court' s ruling, the Berkley Ordinance, which
set contribution limits for the support of or opposition to ballot issues,
was declared unconstitutional , and
WHEREAS, Chapter 9, Article VI, Section 15 of the Code of the City of
Fort Collins places similar limitations on contributions in support of or
in opposition to ballot issues
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that Article VI, Chapter 9 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins
be, and it hereby is, repealed
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered pub-
lished this 18th day of Ma_, A D 1982, and to be presented for final
passage on the 1st day of June , A D , 1982
