HomeMy WebLinkAbout106 - 08/16/1983 - APPROPRIATING PRIOR YEAR RESERVES IN THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND AND TRANSFERRING APPROPRIATED AMOUNTS r ORDINANCE NO. 106, 1983 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROPRIATING PRIOR YEAR RESERVES IN THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND AND TRANSFERRING APPROPRIATED AMOUNTS FROM THE GENERAL FUND TO THE CAPITAL PROJECTS FUND WHEREAS, Article V , Sections 8 and 15, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins authorize City Council to appropriate prior year reserves at any time such reserves are available and to transfer unexpended, appro- priated amounts from one fund to another; and WHEREAS, the asbestos discovered to exist on pipe fittings in Old City Hall ' s mechanical systems must be removed as part of the building' s reno- vation; and WHEREAS, performance of this task will require replacement of the building ceilings and light fixtures; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to install an energy management control system as part of the renovation; and WHEREAS, funds are available from Capital Projects Fund prior year reserves for asbestos removal and equipment replacement and funds are available in the General Fund facilities energy budget for the energy management control system. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS: 1. That there is hereby appropriated for expenditures from prior year reserves in the Capital Projects Fund and transferred from the General Fund to the Capital Projects Fund the following amounts for renovation expenses in Old City Hall : Prior Year Reserves $208,000 Transfer from General Fund 22 ,500 TOTAL $230,500 2 . That the immediate adoption of this ordinance is necessary to preserve, protect and advance the general welfare of the residents of the City of Fort Collins; therefore, the Council hereby determines that an emergency exists requiring the immediate passage of this ordinance; and this ordinance is therefore, enacted pursuant to Section 6 of Article II of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins as an emergency ordinance and shall be effective upon its passage.
