AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO
AN AGREEMENT WITH FAIRWAYS MARKETING
CORPORATION FOR FAIRWAY MARKERS/SIGNS
AT CITY PARK NINE GOLF COURSE
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins owns and operates the City Park Nine
Golf Course for the use and benefit of its residents; and
WHEREAS, Fairways Marketing Corporation is in the business of mar-
keting, advertising, and promoting distinctive recreational signs and
display advertising; and
WHEREAS, The City is desirous of utilizing Fairways Marketing Cor-
poration's signs and advertising to enhance the depiction of its fairways
and golf course layout; and
WHEREAS, Fairway Marketing Corporation is mutually desirous of en-
hancing the golf course's fairways and layout; and
WHEREAS, it is also in the financial interests of the City to contract
for the installation and maintenance of fairway markers at City Park Nine
Golf Course; and
WHEREAS, City Council previously adopted Ordinance No. 170, 1983,
authorizing a similar agreement for Collindale Golf Course with Fairways
Marketing Corporation and our experience with them at Collindale has been
positive; and
WHEREAS, Article V, Section 34 of the Charter of the City of Fort
Collins provides that, "no contract for service shall be made by the City
for a longer period than two years, unless authorized by ordinance,
and
WHEREAS, the proposed agreement for fairway markers at City Park Nine
Golf Course is for a five (5) year period with a five (5) year renewal
option.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that the City Manager be, and he hereby is, authorized to enter
into an agreement with Fairways Marketing Corporation for the purpose of
installing and maintaining fairway markers/signs at City Park Nine Golf
Course for a period of five (5) years with a five (5) year renewal option.

passage on the 4th day of September, A.D. 1984.
