HomeMy WebLinkAbout044 - 04/21/1981 - AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 118 OF THE CITY CODE RELATING TO SIGNS AND HOME OCCUPATIONS ORDINANCE NO 44, 1981 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AMENDING CERTAIN SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 118 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS BEING A PART OF THE ZONING ORDINANCE AS IT RELATES TO SIGNS AND HOME OCCUPATIONS BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS Section 1 That Section 118-91 (0) of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows §118-91 (D) Identification signs during the construction of a development, provided that the placement and use of all such signs shall be subject to the following limitations (1) The maximum size for identification signs shall be one hundred (100) square feet in area per face (2) All such signs shall be located within the de- velopment, and must be located along arterial roads adjacent to the development and subject to the following limitations (a) No more than two (2) such signs shall be permitted on any single arterial boundary of the development (b) Such signs must be at least one thousand (1,000) feet apart if they are not located at the same intersection (3) When a development has no frontage on an arterial road, identification signs may be located along collector streets adjacent to the development, except that no more than one (1) such sign shall be permitted along any collector street adjacent to the development (4) Identification signs must be removed when the development sales office closes Section 2 That the definitions of classes of signs as set forth in Section 118-11 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the sane hereby is, amended by the addi�ion of a new definition to read as follows, with the remaining definitions being arranged accordingly (A) Awning Sign - A sign which is mounted on a telnoor- ary shelter supported entirely from the exterior wall of the building Section 3 Chapter 118 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, anended by the addition of a new Section to read as follows §118-96 2 Awning Signs (A) No alining signs shall project above the top of the awning on which it is mounted (B) No avning sign shall project from the face of an awning (C) Awnings on which awning signs are mounted may extend over a public right-of-%,ay no more than seven (7) feet from the face of a supporting building (D) Awnings on which awning signs are mounted shall be at least eight (8) feet above any public right- of-way, except that any valance attached to an awning may be no less than seven (7) feet above a public rignt-of-way Section 4 That Section 118-81 (C)(9)(f) (Nome Occupations) of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the same hereby is, amended to read as follows (C) (f) The renting of rooms to not more tnan two (2) persons per dwelling, provided that the residence in which the home occupation is conducted is occupied by the owner Introduced, considered favorably on first read ng and ordered pub- lished this 17th day of March 1981, and to be presented for final passage on tiT—e plst day o A,31 ,1,1981 1 11l1 � C' / ATTEST Yo 1 1 City erc -2- Passed and adopted on final reading this 21st day of April , 1981 Mayor 6A ATTEST n O City Clerk -3-
