AMENDING SECTION 71-1 OF THE CODE OF
CITY OF FORT COLLINS RELATING TO THE
BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE PUBLIC LIBRARY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
Section 1 That Section 71-1 (Board of Directors Membership, Term
and Appointment ) of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and the same
hereby is, amended to read as follows
Section 71-1 Board of Directors, Membership, Term and
Appointment
A The Public Library shall be in the immediate charge
of a Board of Directors under the name and style of
the "Board of Directors of the Public Library,"
which board shall consist of five regular members
and two alternate members to be appointed by the
City Council The regular members shall hold
office for a period of four years, as provided by
the City Charter, Article XX, Section 1, and the
alternate rremtiers shall hold office for a period of
two vears, and all members of said Board shall serve
without compensation The Council shall make the
appointments so that at least one and not more than
two regular members shall be appointed every year ,
except to fill vacancies for unexpired terms
B Regular members shall have the voting privilege
as specified in the rules and regulations of the
Board of Directors of the Public Libr ary An
alternate member shall have the voting privilege
only when serving in the absence of a regular
memFer
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered pub-
