OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED GRANT REVENUE FROM THE
BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE IN THE GENERAL FUND
FOR THE LARIMER COUNTY DRUG TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, the Drug Task Force for the Bureau of Justice Assistance has awarded Fort
Collins Police Services grants of federal money in the amount of 116,808 ("Grant I") and $90,000
("Grant H"); and
WHEREAS,the Larimer County Drug Task Force(the"Task Force")will use the two grants
to help fund the investigation of illegal narcotics activities; and
WHEREAS, the Task Force consists of representatives from Fort Collins Police Services,
Loveland Police Department,Larimer County Sheriff s Department,Estes Park Police Department,
and the Colorado State University Police Department; and
WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins and Fort Collins Police Services will administer the
grants for the Larimer County Drug Task Force; and
WHEREAS, Grant I will be used to fund confidential purchases of narcotics from drug
dealers; and
WHEREAS, Grant H will fund a lease agreement and operational expenses of the Task
Force; and
WHEREAS,Article V,Section 9,of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins permits the City
Council to make supplemental appropriations by ordinance at any time during the fiscal year,
provided that the total amount of such supplemental appropriations,in combination with all previous
appropriations for that fiscal year, does not exceed the current estimate of actual and anticipated
revenues to be received during the fiscal year; and
WHEREAS,City staff has determined that the appropriation of the grant funds as described
herein will not cause the total amount appropriated in the General Fund to exceed the current
estimate of actual and anticipated revenues to be received in that fund during the fiscal year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated from unanticipated grant revenue in the General Fund
the sum of ONE HUNDRED FORTY-SIX THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED EIGHT DOLLARS
($146,808) for expenditure, upon receipt, in the General Fund for Police Services for the Multi-
jurisdictional Drug Task Force Grant Project.
