HomeMy WebLinkAbout137 - 10/16/1984 - AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH THE LARIMER COUNTY FOR THE C ORDINANCE NO. 137, 1984 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH LARIMER COUNTY FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A BRIDGE AT THE POUDRE RIVER WHEREAS, the Prospect Street bridge at the Poudre River in Larimer County has suffered damage; and WHEREAS, the County has received an offer from the State of Colorado to contribute for the repair of the Prospect Street Bridge; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins would obtain substantial benefit from the widening of the Prospect Street bridge from two lanes to four lanes; and WHEREAS, the City of Fort Collins is willing to pledge the sum of Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($500,000) , with possible increase to Seven Hundred Thousand Dollars ($700,000) for payment to Larimer County for construction of a four lane bridge on Prospect Street at the Poudre River. NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Council of the City of Fort Collins: Section 1. The City of Fort Collins hereby approves an Intergovern- mental Agreement to be entered into between Larimer County and the City of Fort Collins according to the terms thereof . Said Intergovernmental Agreement is identified hereto as Exhibit "A" and is incorporated herein by this reference. Section 2. Pursuant to the terms of the Intergovernmental Agreement the City' s obligation to the County is a borrowing constituting a Revenue Security pursuant to the Charter of the City of Fort Collins-Article V, Section 20.3. Section 3. This Ordinance shall be irrepealable until the indebted- ness herein provided for, is set forth in the Intergovernmental Agreement , shall have been duly paid, satisfied, and discharged. However, the City may, without the consent of Larimer County adopt any amendments or supple- mental ordinances hereto which are enacted to correct or supplement any defect or inconsistent provision contained in this Ordinance or to make any provision with respect to matters rising under this Ordinance or for any other purpose if such provisions are necessarily or desirable to carry out the effect of the Intergovernmental Agreement.
