OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
SUBMITTING A PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT
TO A VOTE OF THE REGISTERED ELECTORS
OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
CONCERNING THE SALARIES OF COUNCILMEMBERS
WHEREAS, Article IV, Section 8, of the Charter of the City of Fort
Collins provides that the Charter may be amended as provided by the laws of
the State of Colorado; and
WHEREAS, §31-2-210, C.R.S. , provides that Charter amendments may be
initiated by the adoption of an ordinance by the Council submitting a
amendment to a vote of the qualified electors of the City of Fort
proposed 9 Y
Collins.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS:
Section 1 . That the Council has reviewed the Charter of the City of
Fort Collins and desires to submit the following proposed Charter amendment
to the registered voters of the City at the next regular City election to
be held on March 5, 1985:
PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT NO. 2
Amend Section 3 of Article II of the Charter of the City of Fort
Collins to read as follows:
Article II City Council
"Section 3. Salaries of Members.
The salary of Councilmembers shall be $400 per month, except
in the case of the Mayor, whose salary shall be $500 per month.
Section 2. Proposed Charter Amendment No. 2 shall be submitted to the
voters in the following ballot language:
PROPOSED AMENDMENT NO. 2
An Amendment providing that the salaries of Council-
members shall be $400 per month, except in the case of
the Mayor whose salary shall be $500 per month.
FOR THE AMENDMENT
AGAINST THE AMENDMENT
Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered pub-
lished this 18th day of December, A.D. 1984 and to be presented for final
passage on the 15th day of January, A.D. 1985.
