OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
SUBMITTING A PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT
TO A VOTE OF THE REGISTERED ELECTORS
OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS
CONCERNING A CHANGE IN THE DATE FOR THE COMPLETION
OF AN AUDIT OF THE BOOKS AND ACCOUNTS OF THE CITY
WHEREAS, Article IV, Section 8, of the Charter of the City of Fort
Collins provides that the Charter may be amended as provided by the laws of
the State of Colorado; and
WHEREAS, §31-2-210, C.R.S. , provides that Charter amendments may be
initiated by the adoption of an ordinance by the Council submitting a
proposed amendment to a vote of the qualified electors of the City of Fort
Collins.
NOW, THERFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT
COLLINS:
Section 1. That the Council has reviewed the Charter of the City of
Fort Collins and desires to submit the following proposed Charter amendment
to the registered voters of the City at the next regular City election to
be held March 5, 1985:
PROPOSED CHARTER AMENDMENT NO. 4
Amend Section 17 of Article II of the Charter of the City of Fort
Collins to read as follows:
Article II City Council .
Section 17. Independent annual audit.
The Council shall provide for an independent audit at least an-
nually by a certified public accountant of all books and accounts of
the City, and shall publish a summary thereof once in the manner
provided for publication of legal notices within five months after the
end of each fiscal year.
Section 2. Proposed Charter Amendment No. 2 shall be submitted to the
voters in the following ballot language:
PROPOSED AMENDMENT NO. 4
An amendment to Article II, Section 17 of the Charter
providing that an independent audit of the books and
accounts of the City shall be accomplished within five
months after the end of each fiscal year.
