HomeMy WebLinkAbout150 - 12/05/1989 - AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SERVICES FOR A TERM OF TWO YEARS, WITH ORDINANCE NO 150 , 1989 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASING AGENT TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SERVICES FOR A TERM OF TWO (2) YEARS, WITH TWO (2) SUCCESSIVE TWO (2) YEAR TERMS, WITH THE FORT COLLINS CONVENTION AND VISITORS' BUREAU WHEREAS, seventy-five (75%) percent of the Lodging Tax collected in 1989 and each year thereafter for the term of this agreement will be applied to convention and visitors' bureau services provided in the year following the collection of the tax; and WHEREAS, the Purchasing Agent has determined that the use of a request for proposals process in the acquisition of services consisting of the administration and management of a Convention and Visitor's Bureau is within the purview of the requirements of the Code and Charter of the City of Fort Collins; and WHEREAS, October of 1989, the City issued a request for proposals for the administration and management of the Convention and Visitor's Bureau; and WHEREAS, upon evaluation of the proposals in accordance with the City's procedure, it has been determined that the Fort Collins Convention and Visitor's Bureau should be selected to perform such work; and WHEREAS, funds have been budgeted and appropriated in the Economic Development Department budget for 1990 for the acquisition of the above mentioned services. WHEREAS, pursuant to Article V, Section 31 of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins, no contract for services shall be for a period longer than two (2) years unless authorized by Ordinance; and WHEREAS, the contract between the City and the Fort Collins Convention and Visitors' Bureau for convention and visitor's bureau services contains an option for two successive two (2) year terms; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that the Purchasing Agent be, and hereby is, authorized to enter into a contract with the Fort Collins Convention and Visitors' Bureau for convention and visitors' bureau services for a term of two (2) years plus the option for two (2) successive two (2) year terms which may be exercised at the discretion of the City.
