HomeMy WebLinkAbout162 - 01/16/1990 - APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE BENEFITS FUND (FOR MEDICAL PLAN PREMIUMS) ORDINANCE NO. 162, 1989 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS APPROPRIATING UNANTICIPATED REVENUE IN THE BENEFITS FUND WHEREAS, Article V, Section 15, of the Charter of the City of Fort Collins authorizes the City Council to appropriate by ordinance unanticipated revenue received as a result of rate or fee increases or new revenue sources at any time during the year; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution 89-227 additional funds will be received by the Benefits fund with the increase in employee medical premiums; and WHEREAS, Article V, Section 8 of the Charter authorizes Council to provide by ordinance for payment of any expense, the actual necessity of which is caused by an unforeseen contingency arising after the passage of the annual appropriation ordinance; and WHEREAS, the benefits plan as adopted by the Council anticipates City expenditures for medical claim costs for 1990 which exceed those anticipated at the time of adoption of the annual budget. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that there is hereby appropriated from unanticipated revenue in the Benefits Fund the sum of NINE HUNDRED TEN THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED SIXTY ONE DOLLARS ($910,161) for medical plan premiums. Introduced, considered favorably on first reading, and ordered published this 19th day of December A.D. 1989, and to be presented for final passage on the 16th day of January, A.D. 1990.
