HomeMy WebLinkAbout192 - 01/04/2000 - AMENDING CITY CODE PERTAINING TO SIGNS ON BUS SHELTERS AND BUS BENCHES ORDINANCE NO. 192, 1999 OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS AMENDING SECTION 24-1 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY PERTAINING TO SIGNS ON BUS SHELTERS AND BUS BENCHES WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Fort Collins has determined that it is in the best interest of the citizens of the City that Section 24-1 of the Code of the City be amended to specifically authorize the placement of signs on bus benches and bus shelters; and WHEREAS,previously,signs have been placed upon bus shelters pursuant to an exemption contained in the Land Use Code, but the Code has been silent regarding the placement of signs on bus shelters. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FORT COLLINS that Section 24-1 of the Code of the City of Fort Collins be, and hereby is, amended by the addition of a new subparagraph (b)(5)to read as follows: Sec. 24-1. Signs on streets and sidewalks prohibited; exceptions; permit. (5) Signs on bus benches and bus shelters displaying advertisements pursuant to an agreement between the city and the owner, provided that such agreement regulates (without limitation) the size, content, placement,illumination,design and material used for construction of said bus benches and bus shelters,and the signs placed thereon. Any such agreement which pertains to bus shelters shall expire no later than October 1, 2000 and shall authorize no more than five (5) bus shelters.
